Bellator 241 will be featuring a featherweight bout between Patricio Pitbull and Pedro Carvalho. This main event will be hosted at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., on March 13.
This fight, in particular, has the potential to be the fight of the night with hopefully a lot of fast-paced action.
Patricio Pitbull is currently 30-4-0, the featherweight world champion, and is on a five-fight win streak. He has a balanced win column, with 10 wins by knockout, 11 submissions, and nine decisions.
He’s proven that he can win in any category he needs to get the job done. In his losses, he has mainly lost by decisions, with only one knockout loss against him.
Pitbull stands at 65 inches and has a reach of 65.5 inches. Even with his height and reach disadvantage so far in most of his fights, he is still able to stay aggressive and take the fight to his opponents.
Pedro Carvalho is currently 11-3-0 and on a six-fight win streak. Out of his wins, he has mostly had victories in submissions, with six leading the way. With his losses, he has one loss for each category of submission, decisions, and knockout.
Carvalho stands at 71 inches and has a reach of 70 inches. For this fight, he has about a five-inch advantage in both height and reach compared to Pitbull.
Pitbull has had a great career and is still going strong. The Brazilian native has put on some incredible fights and shown the aggression to knock just about anyone out that challenges him.
He also has the ability to tie you up in the blink of an eye and make you tap out.
Carvalho has been an up-and-coming fighter in Bellator. He still has a lot to prove, but he has shown signs of a promising career. If he can manage to win against Pitbull, this would greatly benefit his resume and confidence.
He has been able to fight well on the ground, but his stand up is a little weak compared to a knockout artist.
Overall, these two will have a lot of ground action and be able to weave in and out of submissions. Look for Pitbull to take the fight standing up, since he has more experience with this. Carvalho does have a nice reach advantage and could benefit him in this fight.
